"I would definitely recommend Baltnet Claims to friends and family... they sorted it all out for me!"

Your responsibilities as an employee

You must cooperate with your employers to make the workplace safe.

It is also your responsibility to take reasonable care of your own health and safety at work and that of anyone with whom you work.

You must:

  1. Follow instructions and comply with safe working practices;
  2. Wear and use PPE correctly; don’t abuse it;
  3. Help to keep workplace tidy;
  4. Use correct tools and equipment for the job;
  5. Obey all safety rules and signs.

If you think that conditions at your workplace are unsafe you can talk anonymously to the Health and Safety Executive. The HSE Infoline is 0800 098 8128.

There might also be other bodies which investigate accidents at work. For instance London Underground has its own, anonymous department.

Therefore if your employer did not inform or brief you about the anonymous reporting procedure you always can call HSE.

More information about health and safety law is set out in HSE publications.

Some of those publications and leaflets can be downloaded from HSE website www.hse.go.uk
